RUTH JENSON VILLAGE

Can you give us a brief bio? I’m a recent graduate from SIBA looking for a start in the Design field. I’m pulled towards space planning and renovations!

Where are you from? Louisiana, Missouri

What is your ASID story? I heard all about ASID in school and when I saw the competition I decided to send in some ideas.

What inspires you? This is a hard question to answer because I find inspiration in everything. When I walk around I try to spot detail in what I look at and pick out what I do and don’t like or what could work better. I feel like I find the most inspiration in nature. The colors I see I use most often in my own personal choices or projects I worked on in school.

What do you like to do for fun? I love traveling with my boyfriend and our dog. We love finding new places to go and explore. Although he likes to explore the woods more I always drag us into the thrift and antique shops along the way!

If you were a crayon, what would be your Color and Name? I would be the color Veridian and would keep my name as that. I think it’s the most calming and beautiful green!

What is your favorite food or restaurant? Crab legs in a cajun boil.

WILSON LIGHTING & HOME

"My love for beautiful things started my career in women's fashion. After two great friends started a home lifestyle company, Global Views, they convinced me to join them and make the move into home fashion and design where I spent a significant part of my career. Then, I met my husband Brian Wilson in High Point during a trade show. After several years of dating long-distance, we got married and I knew my next move was to join Wilson Lighting. Soon after joining, we took on the endeavor of opening a new showroom in St. Louis, and have now also introduced a new category to the company, expanding our offering in upholstered furniture."

"I first joined ASID when I was with Global Views and have been an active participant in the time I have been a member. Recently, it has been a pleasure to be on the board of the ASID MO East chapter, serving as the Financial Director for the last two years."

"My inspirations are simple: people and beautiful things."

"I love to entertain family and friends, travel, and go boating."

"Purple, Love For Life"

"There is not much food that I don't like. We are fortunate to live in St. Louis with so many great restaurants!"
